Sam Burgess claims ‘Rugby League is where I belong’ after a year back in his beloved game
The 27-year-old returns to England as part of the Four Nations squad after three years away from the side. After a tough outing in rugby union, Burgess reflected on his time in the 15-man code stating that he wouldn’t change a thing.
“It’s good to be back with the English league team but I also had a great time with the English rugby union team as well,” Burgess said.
“For me I don’t have any regrets or anything, I’m just looking forward to getting back in an England rugby league jersey and doing my best for my country again.
“I took a lot of character out of it, I learnt a lot.
“I learned probably a lot more about what it took to be successful, to be disciplined and to achieve certain goals. I learned a lot about personal character and team environment.”
Burgess was named as captain ahead of the injured Sean O’Loughlin and Bulldogs leader James Graham.
