Yes, it certainly was a Happy Easter to remember as all 12 clubs produced an extravaganza that had plenty of twists as well as points on show.
The recovery now begins as the grueling period came to an end but once again, in its second phase, another 13 players stood out from the big bunch, find out if any from your respective club made the shortlist!
Fullback – Tony Gigot
Retaining his position from the last round was Catalan Dragons’ Tony Gigot and it came as a little surprise.
The Frenchman didn’t face too much competition for the selection as well as in his side’s respective fixture as Catalan came out and blew Salford away.
The 26-year-old had a fitting contribution in the fixture, scoring a cheeky yet entertaining intercept try but also managing up to 175 metres with ball in hand and nine tackle busts kept Salford’s defence occupied.
He may have had an advantage on others, given his side’s extra two days rest but take nothing away from him, he gave a top performance on his return from his off-field controversies.
A gamble by Head Coach Laurent Frayssinous to stick with him but boy, it is one that’s working well as Gigot aims for a return to consistent top form and over Easter, he’s not far off!
