So was it a lucky weekend for some? That answers cuts both ways as some edged their way to glory in the regular round and simultaneously doing enough to earn a spot in Team of the Week.
Below is another selection of 13 players in their respective positions as per as Super League entered May.
Fullback – Jake Mamo
This proved to be difficult but Huddersfield’s new signing Jake Mamo is chosen at full-back.
Just ousting the likes of Jamie Shaul, Mamo was a man on a mission for the Giants in their narrow defeat to Castleford.
Mamo has had to endure a season ravaged by injury thus far but since his return, he has only impressed and was easily one of Huddersfield’s more impressive players once again.
Scoring a hat-trick being a key highlight but also managing three tackle busts and just as many clean breaks further demonstrates how much of a danger he was in attack throughout.
Mamo also proved to be a workhorse, carrying the ball up to 20 times and carting up 110+ metres that almost help the Giants become unlikely winners in their bid to survive in Super League.
Plenty of the season lay ahead and should he continue such form, Mamo may be the missing ingredient necessary to keep Huddersfield away from the flames of relegation.
