The season approaches its half-way point, meaning the Magic Weekend is all set to kick off!
With the weekend in just a few days, we take a look back at some of the most historic clashes over the course of its history.
From possessing plenty of points, close scores and highly controversial moments, these five matches left their mark on the fun-packed weekend are as a result, were the best of the best matches!
5 – Huddersfield Giants 34-36 Warrington Wolves – 2008
Starting from a clash from the 2008 Millennium Magic weekend, Huddersfield Giants and Warrington Wolves produced a high scoring clash to kick start the 2008 weekend.
Both future Cup finalists served up a 70 point thriller that laid the platform down for a successful 2008 event.
The Giants scampered into a 22-6 lead by half-time but the Wolves wouldn’t go away.
A late comeback that involved two tries apiece from Lee Briers and Andy Bracek was enough to send Warrington home winners in a tense encounter.
Both club’s didn’t make too much an impact during 2008 but this 80 minutes was a highlight in their season as both would eventually improve as time went by.
