Leeds Rhinos have confirmed that fullback Ashton Golding has agreed a new 5-year deal with the club.
Golding has made 32 appearances for Leeds since his debut in 2014, scoring 3 tries and kicking 14 goals. He has impressed in 2017, in what is his first season as a regular in the first team.
The Leeds-born 20-year old has been considered as a hugely promising young player for many years, and was given the number 1 shirt ahead of the current season as a reward for his progression.
Golding has repaid the faith put in him this campaign by putting in some brilliant performances, especially in defence.
The Rhinos announced the new deal in a unique way, as they sent Golding up to the top of the South Stand where a huge ‘Golding 1’ shirt that had been cut into the centre of the Headingley turf could be seen.
