Another hectic schedule is complete and though it proved infamous amongst players and coaches alike, it delivered double the action over the weekend and gave supporters plenty to talk about.
Some clubs were given a rest and perhaps putting others at a disadvantage but regardless, the season continues.
As for team of the week, or round in this respect, another 13 players stood out, some from clubs counted out at the start of the season but continue to defy the odds. Find out if any players from your respective club made the cut.
Fullback – Rhys Hanbury
Last season saw the best out of Rhys Hanbury arguably, as did round 16 as he and Widnes secured a famous victory over Leeds Rhinos.
Though not quite as much as last season’s triumph, Widnes defied the odds and moved to within one point of Leigh Centurions and one player to thank is Hanbury.
The 31-year-old boasted that he still possesses plenty of experience and he utilised just that, helping his side overturn a deficit late on to stun the former champions.
Hanbury not only scored one of the tries but proved to be a work horse, tallying 138 metres from 15 carries really demonstrated how crucial his support to the forward pack truly was.
Maybe the start of a revival for the Vikings in their bid to survive relegation or just a one off? Who knows but one thing’s for certain, never underestimate this guy and his team on the day.
