The period that proved most unpopular with the rugby league world alike, another schedule of three games in just over a week is finally complete once again.
Players can take a well-earned, especially the 13 players who performed enough to earn a spot in this round’s team of the week for round 17!
Fullback – Jamie Shaul
This was a difficult one as the likes of Rhys Hanbury and Jake Mamo proved to be tough competition but edging home was Hull’s Jamie Shaul.
He hasn’t been at his best all season but the game against Wigan really saw the Hull lad shine.
Shaul proved to be an asset in attack and defence, his line busts helping Hull remain dominant in attack throughout plus he did enough to prevent a Wigan fightback with his kick returns.
But what really edged it for him was his special solo try, one of the tries of this season, they don’t come much more special.
So Shaul demonstrated that there’s International recognition in him after all, despite differing views and though may be not the first choice, still a future contender regardless.
