The 2017 Betfred Super League really is taking ‘giant slaying’ to a whole new level as three of last season’s semi-finalists face a battle to avoid the Super 8s Qualifiers.
And who do the clubs inflicting such actions on them have to thank for this? Of course, their players on the field who are doing splendid jobs!
Another selection of 13 stood out in week 18 as the business end of the season fast approaches!
Fullback – Jake Mamo
A fairly obvious choice and who could complain at this selection as Huddersfield’s star signing Jake Mamo eased in, and in some style.
The Australian helped the Giants continue their revival as they managed to escape the bottom four for the first time in months.
His personal highlight being his four tries as he and the Giants annihilated fellow strugglers Catalan Dragons in Perpignan.
On top of his four tries, Mamo was an all-round work horse, attaining up to 250 metres with ball in hand from 18 carries to help his side ‘go forward’ all evening.
Practically a faultless game from the full-back as he aims for a strong finish with the Giants and who knows, perhaps next season, help turn Huddersfield into a force once again!
