The Super League returned for another week of regular round action and had some interesting twists and turns following the aftermath and reflection of the Challenge Cup quarter-finals.
Some clubs felt the effect of the old ‘hangover’ excuse whereas others thrived on such a week and back up such performances.
In those games, only another 13 players stood out from the rest as the Super League reaches the business end; find out if any players from your club made the cut!
Fullback – Zak Hardaker
The full-back berth didn’t see too many stand out but Castleford’s Zak Hardaker returning to the team, having returned to Headingley and help Castleford defeat his parent club.
Jamie Shaul pushed the International close but Hardaker edged him out in helping Castleford return to winning ways.
Hardaker not only scored a try that was something special but produced an all-round professional performance, especially in attack.
Having made 200+ metres from 18 carries, Hardaker kept the Rhinos busy throughout, even shrugging off the cold homecoming the Rhinos faithful gave him.
Certainly maintaining his strong credentials for the World Cup, Hardaker may just be the man to take the Tigers to their first piece of silverware in the summer era.
