Following the Challenge Cup Semi-finals and as a build-up to the Super 8s, we look back at the team that really stood out in the Super League regular season.
There may look a hint of bias in the team but let’s face it, no coincidence that such players are selected considering how their clubs have performed throughout with them there every week.
Below is the Team of the Year from the regular season but will they continue such form into the Super 8s?!
Fullback – Zak Hardaker
At fullback is a fairly obvious choice as former Man of Steel and one of the current favourites for the award in Zak Hardaker breezes into the position.
The 25-year-old has been superb since returning to the English game, despite initially departing through controversial circumstances.
True, he may have scored “only” eight tries for the Tigers, but the International has been a rock at the back.
Helping them to Super League’s best defence with sheer ease to even racking up 2727 metres all season, the fourth highest total from a player.
He has his support play and kick returns to thank for this, helping with the Tigers’ constant attacking flow throughout this season.
No doubt there’s plenty more from the star as he aims to make history with yet another West Yorkshire club.
