Worst Performance: Batley Bulldogs 4-68 Hull Kingston Rovers
Hull Kingston Rovers were red hot favourites but any team that concedes such an amount on home soil should be terribly disappointed.
Batley were simply no match for the Robins at Mount Pleasant from the word go in a match that saw them steamrollered.
Take nothing away from Hull KR, it was a match that would eventually help towards their return to Super League, but from a team who finished third last season, you’d have expected a much better challenge.
A hat-trick of tries from Ryan Shaw, two tries each for Andrew Hefernan, Zach Docker-Clay and Jake Butler-Fleming plus further tries from Jamie Ellis, Jordan Abdull and Rob Mulhern saw Batley completely battered.
The Bulldogs could only manage a consolation effort through Michael Hayward but following the match, it was back to the drawing board for Diskin and his troops as their chances of gaining another top four spot had all but disintegrated here!
