Finally, onto the RFL’s hopefuls in Toulouse Olympique and their return to the Kingstone Press Championship.
The full-time outfit didn’t fare too well in their goals of challenging Super League opposition.
Instead, they had to settle for the Championship Shield, something they unsurprisingly won with ease.
Some consolation for what turned out to be an anti-climactic campaign but lessons to be learnt as the French will want to return stronger in 2018.
Find out below how it all panned out, what could have gone better and will they be successful next time around?!
Best Performance: Hull Kingston Rovers 30-31 Toulouse Olympique
Their most famous win of 2017 had to be their thrilling 31-30 away win over Hull Kingston Rovers.
Toulouse trailed 20-6 by half-time but a resounding second half performance saw them edge the league leaders that completely stunned the home crowd.
Stan Robin and Bastien Ader led the way with two tries apiece as well as Mark Kheirallah touching down.
It also took a field-goal from the latter to help the French to a titanic showdown for the top four with Halifax.
Though they failed in that goal, a positive being their home and away double over the Robins, something of an achievement considering KR’s return to Super League.
As a result, Toulouse will remain dark horses heading into 2018 as they aim to help get the game going over in France!
