Scotland Vs Tonga
Finally and potentially a mouth-watering clash as Scotland tackle Tonga.
The Brave Hearts though haven’t started well considering their thrashing sustained to Country under 23s, that and losing Ryan Brierley under such short notice.
Of course they have others to look to, namely skipper Danny Brough with all his leadership skills and personal qualities such as his kicking game and passion overall.
It’ll be an interesting half-back partnership he’ll have with Oscar Thomas.
After all, going by the size of Tonga, Scotland will have to attempt attack after attack to remain competitive.
The Brave Hearts do have their size though in the likes of Luke Douglas, Jonathan Walker, Ben Kavanagh and Frankie Mariano.
They also have speed in Lewis Tierney and Matty Russell, who may just thrive off Brough and his decisive attacks.
But they are underdogs and why? Well looking at Tonga’s squad, they look quite formidable.
Having sizable personnel in the three-quarters in Daniel Tupou, Michael Jennings, Konrad Hurrell and of course Manu Vatuvei, Tonga should prove too powerful in this area alone.
But add others such as Sam Moa, Ben Murdoch-Masila and of course Sika Manu, the Tongans look far too powerful across the field.
As long as their half-backs are consistent and creative enough, this should prove an easy ride out for the Tongans.
So yes, as expected, Tonga to secure a win and perhaps emerge as the dark horses for the World Cup, especially as a big win here would only in-still confidence amongst their ranks!
Prediction: Scotland 16-40 Tonga
