Now a focus on the most popular position in the British game, arguably, in the hookers.
Let’s face it, it was the most difficult choice for England boss Wayne Bennett, making the selection below all the more challenging.
Only five could stand out, find out below who the lucky ones are!
5 – Daryl Clark
First up is Warrington’s Wolves’ Daryl Clark. The former Man of Steel may have been quiet last season, but overall, he still has plenty of talent within him.
The 24-year-old has been heavily involved in Warrington’s games so some applause to him as his effort can’t be faulted.
His attack is consistently dangerous, especially his running from the acting half position.
Having made 58 appearances for the Wolves in the previous two seasons, he has helped them to two major finals and the League Leaders Shield.
Admitted, 2017 was a quieter season for the Wolves as they had relegation to contend with, but Clark still showed bouts of quality.
Having made 22 offloads, completed 642 tackles and achieved 49 tackle busts as well as scoring three tries in his 24 appearances saw him work hard.
So there’s potential for him and Warrington to bounce back, another reason for his ranking as it is an interesting talking point as he and the Wolves look to bounce back from their decline.
